Before you read this, be advised to visit all the links presented to grasp the full meaning of this very important post!

Once again US Bingo Players are forced to deal with the effects of the Online Gambling Ban imposed on them by our own Government! Since US Bingo Players have lost the use of Neteller, it’s been all down hill. Many Chat Hosts were paid through Neteller, and have their last pay checks frozen. Once Neteller could not be use to fund US Player Accounts, one by one sites dropped US Players. Stay updated on the Neteller issue here: http://www.bingoplayersunion.com/viewtopic.php?t=813 and here: http://www.bingoplayersunion.com/viewtopic.php?t=978 and what sites are not accepting US players here:
http://www.bingoplayersunion.com/viewtopic.php?t=797

The entire BPU Staff is in full agreement that ALL US Bingo Players should Stop Playing Online Bingo! The majorities of the sites that still allow US Players are just sucking out every last cent they can from US players. We are getting over run by player complaints about sites not honoring or paying their wins. The Hand writing is on the wall people, consider yourself lucky if you get any payout. Fact is! Sites can fix the games so a US Player wins a Big Pot, than deny the win and pocket the Money. Corrupt Sites Like Bingo Vega, Vic’s Bingo, Bingoville and Bingo Nova (to name a few) will continue to cheat all players till they are forced out of the US Market. All Players need to be reminded that Online Bingo is not regulated and any site can do as it pleases and you the player have no recourse.

I’m sure many of you are unhappy with the US Government taking our right to gamble online away! Players have many reasons for playing online Bingo. For many it’s an entertaining break from the pressures of the real world. To others, that are shut in or confined to the home, it’s their link to the world. The Bingo Chat has become a great part of their lives. There they can sit, play and chat with new online friends anytime of the day or night. The sad part of all this is many Bingo sites exploited this basic need for companionship! I’m sure many players knew the sites they were playing at were not on the up and up, but allowed themselves to be cheated in order to maintain their online relationships. My heart goes out to this group of people and they are the ones this ban is hurting the most.

It’s hard to believe that people would rather be cheated than lose their Roomies! But the fact remains a just society will not allow this to continue, Player need a honest site to play at, a site where they can actually win and not worry that they are being taken advantage of. Players are again reminded! That just because many of the CH’s are friendly and you love them, does not mean the real owners, behind the sites are honest. If you read the BPU LQQKS At Bingo Software found here: http://www.bingoplayersunion.com/viewforum.php?f=70

You can get a grasp on just how the game can be manipulated to give the house a complete advantage over the players. Hopefully! When Online Bingo returns to US Players the present suppliers of online Bingo Software should be banned. I fully believe they have written their software to allow cheating, and closed their eyes to this fact. Kind of we will give you a means to cheat your players, but it’s up to you, But we don’t want to know about it!

Sorry! But if US Bingo is to be regulated it has to start with the Bingo Software developers!

I tend to look at the bright side of all this! To my way of thinking, the US Government, even in their ignorance of the real issues has flushed the Toilet! Gone are all the cheating corrupt sites (or will be soon) and soon US Players will be allowed to once again play online Bingo, but this time it will be regulated! I’m sure you all are aware that the US has a giant Land based Gambling Industry. They also have very powerful lobbyist in our nations capital that see the potential and vast profits that can be made with Online gambling. You can be rest assured that US interests are conducting many back door meetings and already Lobbying the Government for a piece of the action. It’s all a matter of Dollars, The Internet has proved people want to gamble from their homes. The US Government is not stupid and will allow this when its worked out how they will get their share. The best part will be, the US will do it right and guarantee all players that play US sites a corrupt free game.

Lets take a brief look back at the Bingo Industry ! When I first started playing online bingo in 2004, there were many sites to choose from. They were no real forums formed yet for players to compare notes. I soon realized that the same players always seem to win no matter what you did to improve your odds. I tried it all, even Maxing cards. Than one day someone in chat mentioned the term House Player, I had no idea what that meant. I found the WhichBingo Site that referred me to CMOY forum! I started a topic there called Anyone Dare Answer? The topic was the first online discussion of House Players. You can still view that thread at CMOY: http://www.cmoftheyear.com/forum/topic. ... IC_ID=1202

I was soon apparent to me that sites were cheating Players and fixing the games, but as an individual Player, I was frustrated because there was not much that one voice can do against these large established sites. Soon a real Player forum opened and I found there were many that felt as I did and perhaps together we could make a difference. It didn’t take long to get the word out about a few sites that were real bad. The Bingo Industry referred to us as Watchdogs and did all they could to try and discredit the movement. In the end the Watch dogs first forum was deleted due to poor administration. The Watchdogs lost all the work they put into that forum. Some of us that were the main posters in that forum continued to support it even when the admim was openly discredited in all the major forums. Seeing the end of that forum in site, I started BPU, just in case! The outcome was that that the old Watch Dog forum was deleted and I decided to pick up where it left off.

When I started BPU, I wanted to have the best Staff that I could get from the list of active watch dogs available. We have been successful and have a well rounded staff that has been around Online Bingo for some time. No one is paid to be a BPU Staff member (although they are all worth their weight in gold)! We have been trying our best to insure Players get a fair place to play and good sites get recognized! The Six BPU Staff Members, offer players a vast array of experience with the Bingo Industry and will continue to serve you! When an issue is presented to us, it is voted on in staff! BPU is ruled by the majority of Staff and not one individual.

The online forums have proven to be a great wealth of information. Unfortunately some of the big Affiliates sponsored forums have not allowed Players to voice their opinions on certain issues. BPU has learned it best to let posters bash our admin than delete their posts! Some still manage to push to the point that their presence can no longer be tolerated, but this does not happen anymore. We have learned that if we let our critics rant and rave they only reveal their real addenda here.

Finally lets focus on one of the real bad sites and why the US should be recognized for trying to stop the laundering of US Dollars by Antigua and Barbuda.. Readers should read the following to understand this issue. http://www.bingoplayersunion.com/viewtopic.php?t=981

The US contends Antigua and Barbuda are involved in money Laundering! Intercontinental casinos owns Zany Bingo, Bingo fun and Zodiac Bingo, along with a few casino sites! All registered and licensed in Antigua and Barbuda! We have collect much data from Zany Bingo that supports The US position that Money laundering is going on with Zany Bingo. No site can justify the amount of money Zany claims as from legit players.

I for one am disappointed to see Zany Pull out of the US market! I was hoping the US Government would catch up to Kam and her staff and bring an end to their US shady dealings. But Fate seems to have saved them for the time being! I’m sure the Majority of CM’s in the Industry are hardworking and Honest people, But with all the Corruption there is in Zany, I just can’t believe this staff to have no idea of what their site is up too. BPU will search out the US government officials that are involved in Antigua and Barbuda money laundering issue and give them our data. Read here for details: http://www.bingoplayersunion.com/viewto ... sc&start=0 Perhaps she maybe still get that knock to her door!

Finally! What does all this mean to US Players? When all the lobbyist and politicians are done, US Player will once again return to online gambling, but you can bet it will be corrupt free and safe. This to me is worth this present inconvenience .
BPU will continue to update our members and guests with the latest news and developments with the Online Gambling Ban. We will also involve our site in bringing about Regulations to Online Bingo! To keep up to date we suggest you Bookmark this site www.bingoplayersunion.com your efforts here may just make the difference.

Internet Gambling - Prohibition Bottled By Uncle Sam
February 1, 2007

In all my years covering the realm of Internet and offshore gambling, I have never witnessed as much chaos, confusion, and fear as today.

Instead of focusing on the Super Bowl which is only four days away, this major event has taken a back seat to something much more devastating.

Within the past month, two major events are largely responsible for this crisis.

Pinnacle recently shut down it's US operations and several days later, the industry's most popular payment processor, namely Neteller, had to also stop catering to Americans after its Canadian founders were indicted and charged with money laundering and conspiracy.

Since then, some other sports books decided to play, "Follow the Leader." They, too, are no longer offering POST UP wagering to US citizens.

However, the irony of these recent events is a dramatic increase in ILLEGAL bookmaking, primarily the credit side of this industry, which nobody wants to address.

After speaking with many of these offshore entrepreneurs, they admit to feeling safer by booking bets the old fashioned way, much like your neighborhood locals do. They allow their good customers to bet on money which isn't even there and gamblers can settle up the following week.

Yes, the days of meeting Dino or Vino on a street corner are back, thanks largely to our hypocrites in Washington DC. Many locals have told me their businesses have grown exponentially since the PROHIBITION ACT, err, Internet Gambling Bill was passed by Congress in the wee hours of the night several months ago. In case you missed it, our bureaucrats attached it to another bill, Port Security, that had absolutely nothing at all to do with gambling.

Only in America!

At the same time Internet gambling was banned, some exceptions were made, most notably for Horse Racing and Lotteries. It is perfectly LEGAL in most states to gamble on horses, lotteries and of course the stock market, but if you want to play poker or bet on the Super Bowl, our government says it is ILLEGAL for offshore/online businesses that are licensed in other jurisdictions to accept your wagers.

The Bush administration has also gone after the Internet gambling banking sector as well, making it very difficult to transfer money back and forth to online gambling establishments. Neteller was this industry's biggest payment processor and they were coerced into shutting down its US base after the arrest of its founders.

Interestingly enough, the WTO (World Trade Organization) has ruled in favor of Antigua against the USA regarding online gambling, saying that the United States had no business prohibiting this tiny nation from offering Internet wagering to US citizens. However, not surprisingly, the Bush administration has ignored this decision thus far.

Just like in the days of PROHIBITION, I am already witnessing an increase in ILLEGAL activity and I suspect what will follow won't be pretty.

There will be a rise in con artists and shysters taking advantage of this situation and preying upon uninformed gamblers. Also, since more gamblers will be given credit, there will be an increase in people losing more money than they can afford. And finally, since the old fashioned method of collecting used to involve some trips to the hospital when gamblers couldn't pay out, don't be surprised if there is a rise in ER visits from Americans who love to gamble.

As we approach the twilight of a new era for Internet gambling, I believe the downward spiral has yet to end. At the end of the mass confusion, a tunnel of light will appear. This tunnel will be the way of the future for Internet gambling. The results will be consolidation of many books, stabilization before the next football season, and a decrease in new prosecutions by the US government.

Congratulations America!!!

We'll always be home of the brave, but I'm starting to question more and more that we're the land of the free...

THE SHRINK

People, please dont chance it....
it isnt worth the loss you could suffer.
In my opinion, its best to let the smoke settle and wait for the finale outcome, than to be in the middle of the flames on this one.

Unfortunately, from what I see nothing has changed since 2007 and here we are 3 years later with the same situation. However, I do see that U.S. and Canadian citizens are still playing online and gambling online.

It hurt Canadians as well when Neteller pulled out and PayPal will not deal with gambling sites so everyone is left in the same boat that is sinking fast.

Do you see this coming to an end anywhere in the "near" future or is it only wishful thinking.

wishful thinking I think poker princess. If there was going to be a resolution I think it would have come a long time ago. There are too many competing interests

Well that certainly sucks to hear. I was hoping that with the new interest in online gambling bill that someone would finally smarten up and start lobbying for the laws to be changed so everything could go back to "freedom of choice" normal.

I would suggest that you do not hold your breath waiting for that to happen. I think that most of the people who are "still" gambling online have realized that they don't need a law to be changed in order for them to enjoy the online gambling world. Because of that I don't think as much pressure is being put on the government to change the law. I could be wrong and I would love to see myself be wrong in this case but I don't think I am, unfortunately.

I agree. I think that we are gonna be waiting a long time for any real change to be affected. Right now there is just not a strong enough lobby to make it happen.

Sadly, stressmom this is just too true. The lobbyists have lost their ooomph I think and therefore where it is now is where it is going to remain.

well unless the electorate decides that we have had enough of this crap and make a stand, and this is certainly a good place to start. I think that the thing that most undermines this movement though is that savvy players know where they can play and avoid many of the legalities and technicalities. Once serious players have determined how to do this perhaps they think that it is not worth the fight, they have found a way to play anyway. just a thought

I think you are probably right. When I go to sites where you can see what country the gamblers come from there is no lack of Americans playing.

Well from what I read on the other thread about the law really coming into effect as of June 1, 2010 for the banks and credit card companies I think that any gambling site is going to have a hard time keeping Americans online playing unless they already have a good bankroll on the site.

Poker would you mind putting a link in here to the "other thread" you refer to? There are thousand of threads here, and it is helpful to the membership if you are clear about what you are referring to. Thanks!

Sorry Sissy I guess I should have thought of that myself. This is the thread I'm talking about:
unlawful-internet-gambling-enforcement-act-june-1,-2010-t3431.html
With that law getting tightened up I doubt if you are going to see any increase in U.S. citizens gambling online in the near future.

You are probably right about that PokerPrincess. I can't think of too many ways people can finance their gambling without using the bank or credit cards.
