I closed my account with WBN prior to receiving their email accusing me of having multiple accounts with them (posted in another thread here); however, I have been doing some checking and found the following to be extremely interesting.

6:57 AM 4/24/2009 (my time stamp to prove the following is current)

Quote:
Wave Bingo Site Rules:

Game Rules

Players wishing to play for real money at WaveBingo must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Only one account per player is permitted.

BingoHouse Site Rules:

Game Rules

Players wishing to play for real money at BingoHouse must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Only one account per player is permitted.

BingoWorkz Site Rules:

Game Rules

Every single WorldBingoNetwork sister/networked site has exactly the same wording.... At none of the sites do the Rules (which are identical site per site) mention that the Game Rules are for WorldBingoNetwork. No novice, naive, new player would be expected to know that by going from one site to another without realizing they were networked to each other and registering they were breaking the rules because if they only register one account at EACH site, they are actually conforming to the RULE AS WRITTEN.

If the network was actually going out of their way to make sure NO ONE broke a multiple account rule, the Game Rules would specifically state that ONLY ONE ACCOUNT WITHIN THE NETWORK is allowed. By deliberately only naming the SITE, they are practicing multiple account deception and leaving a huge loophole for the site/network to deny ever paying a customer unless that customer was an extremely savvy online player.

This network leaves it entirely the responsibility of the player to figure this out on their own or at the very least question it, but if the player doesn't think they have broken a rule in the first place, and the network never checks until a payout is requested, years will go by, deposits will be accepted at each of the sites the player is registered at, and the 'gotcha' comes at the network's discretion.

This means the player has the sole responsibility of being a savvy enough player to keep every email proving registration information, every tt, every livehelp conversation, every chatroom conversation if they ask questions there, in addition to every inquiry regarding their account and changes made to their profiles in order to prove they did nothing wrong....whereas the site itself has NO responsibility of providing software that could easily prevent a player from inadvertently opening/registering a second account in the first place (there IS software out there that does this as I've experienced it with another network) and at the very least they have the workforce available to check new accounts to make sure the real name and address used isn't already being used by a previous account registered and could notify the player of this so it can be resolved immediately.

Sites have GOT to put new security in place that actually scans REAL NAMES AND REAL ADDRESSES as people register and stop ONLY checking username/passwords being registered as the SOLE checkstop for multiple accounts. Until real account information is finally used for immediately checking new registrations for multiple accounts, the player will ALWAYS be the loser in this game sites play. This is huge problem for players when the site is actually a many layered network with many, many sites involved since most players, especially ones new to online bingo, never realize until it's too late that the network has suckered them out of their bank accounts.

I am firmly convinced that networks exist solely to confuse and lure suckers into their sites (such as A2ZBingo and WBN and CyberbingoNetwork and IPlayBingo to name a few) so that novices create multiple accounts without ever realizing they have shot themselves in the foot immediately. The sites will NEVER tell that player until a payout is requested and the player not only has their accounts closed without a word, but they also forfeit any monies in their accounts.

If a player uses the same nick at any WBN network site all they have to do is use the same player name at whichever site they play at.

My advice is if you go to a WBN site type in your user name and pw and if you are registered at any one of their sites it will let you in the rooms no matter which site it is as long as it is networked. If you are not sure if you have played at a site type in your user name and pw and if an acct already exists voila you are home free, no duplicate accts.

The problems start when say u go to site a and use Joe then site B you use John, as many sites are networking now it only takes a couple minutes to check by doing the above even for someone new to on-line bingo.

it has been pounded into new internet users to never use the same username and password at sites as they travel that I honestly believe new-to-online bingo players will also follow that rule of thumb and wind up registering at multiple networked sites without realizing they are even connected. Only long-time savvy players I believe will be watching every single site for issues.

I know when I first got started with online gambling I had no clue about multiple accounts and registered everywhere with different names without ever realizing that I was breaking the most important rule (other than playthru) of all. It was two years later when I got involved here at BPU and became aware of how many things I had to watch out for.

At that point, I began the list and started getting in touch with all sites and networks to get the multiple accounts closed....and even then I didn't think to keep copies of LiveHelp conversations, tt's, emails, etc in order to protect myself and have proof that I did everything I could in order to conform with site rules. When I did starting keeping all those records, I discovered just recently that because of a computer melt down (motherboard went bad once and then a harddrive) that what I thought was backed up to an external harddrive while I rebuilt the computer from scratch actually didn't include some of my emails and documents so I didn't have the proof I thought I still had regarding what happened with WBN.

But that doesn't let WBN off the hook for the wording they use in their Game Rules which only names the particular site and the no more than one account rule. Any newbie would automatically assume that they have conformed to the rule since it doesn't state that only one account for the entire network is what is allowed, not one account per site. Bingo sites/networks have to be held accountable for forcing players to adhere to the rules when they themselves have no problem breaking those rules themselves because of deliberate 'slips' on their part that they can throw out as an excuse to not pay players or as an excuse to close accounts at their discretion.
